Privacy Policy

Last updated 2026. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it and how you stay in control of your data.

1. Introduction

Lybernet (“Lybernet”, “we”, “us” or “our”) builds software products, publishes a digital library and runs free learning resources. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you use our website and services, why we collect it, how long we keep it and the choices you have.

By using this website you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please stop using the site.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us: your name, email address, phone number, message content, payment reference (UTR) details, résumés and any other information you submit through our contact form, newsletter sign-up, library checkout or careers application form.

Information collected automatically: basic technical data such as browser type, device type, approximate location derived from IP address, pages visited and referring URLs. This is used to keep the service secure and to understand aggregate usage.

We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13, and we do not collect card numbers, UPI PINs or bank credentials — UPI payments are completed entirely inside your own payment app.

3. How we use your information

To deliver purchased digital products and provide download links; to verify UPI payment references; to respond to enquiries and support requests; to send transactional confirmations; to review job and internship applications; to maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse; and to comply with legal obligations.

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we use your email only to send occasional product and library updates. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link.

4. Legal basis for processing

We process personal data on the basis of your consent (newsletter, applications), the performance of a contract (purchases and delivery), our legitimate interests (security, service improvement) and compliance with applicable law.

5. Storage, security and retention

Data is stored on managed cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit and at rest. Access is restricted to authorised administrators through authenticated accounts, row-level database security policies and activity logging.

We retain order and invoice records for as long as required by tax and accounting law, résumés for up to 12 months from submission, contact messages for up to 24 months, and newsletter subscriptions until you unsubscribe.

6. Sharing your information

We do not sell or rent personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us operate the website (hosting, database, storage and email delivery), all bound by confidentiality obligations, and with authorities where disclosure is legally required.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

We use strictly necessary cookies and local browser storage to keep you signed in where relevant and to remember interface preferences. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can clear or block storage through your browser settings, though some features may then stop working.

8. Your rights

Subject to applicable law you may request access to the personal data we hold about you, ask for corrections, request deletion, object to or restrict processing, withdraw consent at any time, and request a portable copy of your data.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We respond to verified requests within 30 days.

9. Third-party links

Our site links to third-party platforms such as GitHub, YouTube and payment applications. Their own privacy policies govern any data you share with them; we are not responsible for their practices.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services evolve. Material changes will be highlighted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the website after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

11. Contact us

For privacy questions or requests, reach us through the contact page on this website. We aim to acknowledge every message within two business days.
